Amsterdam

On our way to India, we had a 24 hour layover in Amsterdam.  We had a great time riding a boat through the channels that run through the city, roaming in to little shops, going to the Anne Frank house, and just going with the flow.  Our hotel was perfectly centered right in the middle of the city, so we walked everywhere.  The first thing we did was ride a boat through the channels that ran through the city.  The boat was a guided tour where we learned about the history of Amsterdam and got to see a lot of house boats, and beautiful buildings.  After the tour boat ride, we exchanged a few dollars for some euros to buy some ice cream (to keep us awake), and to tip the street dancers that were performing in the plaza a few blocks from our hotel.  Apparently our tip was generous, because the guy we tipped kept on walking around with the euro we gave him on his forehead.  We then continued on to the Anne Frank house.  It was quite a walk, but it was definitely worth it.  Then we went to dinner and walked back to the hotel.  We are all exhausted because our night in Amsterdam was a rough one.  We were all awake and asleep at different times.  I personally was out by 9:00, and then I woke up at 12:00 and fell back asleep an hour later, and so on.  Even with our friend, Melatonin, it was a tough night for all of us.

We are now currently in Mumbai, India.  After a long 9 hour flight, we are exhausted!  Me and my mom are in one room, and Jake and my dad are in another.  The beds are as hard as rocks, but we will make do.  It is 1:45 a.m. here, so I need to try to fall asleep.  I took 2 melatonin about 45 minutes ago, so I'm sure I will be able to fall asleep soon... hopefully.  More posts to come about our adventures in Mumbai! Goodnight!
