Hello! I apologize for not blogging for a few days. Our schedule has been jam packed! A lot has happened. I should let you know that the service part of our trip is over, so from now on, our blog will be a travel blog.
But, I still need to tell you all about our last day at Rising Star. It started out as usual; breakfast and getting ready for the day. But, the Indian government randomly decided to cancel school for the kids on Thursday and Friday, so the tutoring was a little different. Our day usually started at 9:00 a.m., but since there was no school, the tutoring actually started at 10:00 a.m. instead. Since it was pretty much just a play day, it was harder for the kids to focus on the tutoring, but it was still fun. We cut out snow flakes for their tutoring. Then after tutoring, as usual, we had free time and play time with the kids. It was a really relaxed day. At 7:30 p.m., the kids put on a little show for the volunteers to say goodbye. The choir sang, there were a few dances, and Jake even danced in it, too! Jake is actually a really good dancer. It wasn't a talent show, but any chance that Jake has to dance in front of people, he will take it. He just loves it, and he rocks at it. All of the girls decided to wear Saris to the show, which are the traditional "dresses" that a lot of Indian women wear. I will post a picture. Then we lined up, and we hugged each of the kids, one by one. The worst was saying goodbye to Anu. We are going to miss her so much. It was really a great experience to do this service.
